1.    Script

Fun fact: to solve a rodent problem at the White Settlement Library in Texas, the librarians brought in a cat from the local shelter. The cat, named Browser, did its job well and was well liked by the community. People joked the cat had its GED because it had sat in on so many classes. But six years later, in 2016, White Settlement Town Council passed a motion put forward by Town counselor LZ Clemens that said Browser had to find a new place to live and leave the library within 30 days, citing cat allergies and planned renovations through the library as reasons for his removal. The local community was outraged, and three weeks later, White Settlement Town Council held a special session to revoke the motion and instate Browser as Library Cat for Life. After twenty thousand people signed online petitions to keep the cat, and Mayor Ron White City had received more than a thousand letters from everywhere in the U.S., as well as Germany, Australia, Malaysia, Guam, and England. At the meeting, counselor LZ Clemens said, "I would like to apologize to those that are unable to use their Public Library facilities because of this cat." Five months later, LZ Clemens was defeated by a landslide during his Town Council re-election campaign.

3.    My Story
When I was in college, there was a stray cat living near the administration building. It was well liked by the community, so we students named it 'Hakgwangi' and took care of it together. As Hakgwangi got older and needed a safe place, a motion was put forward by the students to find it a home. We posted an adoption notice in our community, and one of the students decided to adopt the cat. It was a happy ending for Hakgwangi, who had become a beloved part of our college life.
