In the life of an analyst working at a real estate private equity firm, I wake up early around 5:30 in the morning. I do this so I can get to the gym before work. I don't have too much time to work out every day, but I like to give myself at least an hour for cycling or lifting. Now, you might be thinking, "Finance people don't have style," but your girl has style. Okay, let me stop. Anyways... I get to work around 8 or 8:30 in the morning and go through emails and my to-do list for the day. Today, we were having a diligence meeting with a big foreign investor. These meetings typically take a large part of the day. During these meetings, the investor is essentially vetting the entire firm prior to their investment. We cover multiple facets of our business, including investment strategy, performance, asset management, ESG, capital markets, and more. I'm not needed in the meeting the entire time, so when I'm not in the meeting, I'm working on investor requests. Later, I went to get coffee with my BFF, and now that the workday is over for me, I head home to work on my side business. I have some pretty exhausting nights and very long days, but it's all self-induced. Having my editor, who's also my best friend, makes it just a little bit more bearable.

3. My story
My daily life can be quite demanding. Mornings start early, with me waking up around 5:00 to attend an English class before work. By 8:40, I'm at the office, going through emails and my to-do list. Some days, I have thorough diligence meetings with significant investors, which are day-consuming events. The investors meticulously vet our firm, probing facets like strategy, performance, ESG, and more. After work, I head to play tennis, at least 3-4 times a week. Contrary to the stereotype that finance people don't have style, I defy it. I often experience exhausting nights and incredibly long days, but it's all self-induced. Striving for excellence keeps me going, despite the challenges of balancing work and life.
