그만둘까 고민하는 지경까지 갔다. 지난 금요일 우리 팀은 퇴근 후 회식했다. 모두 취했다. 농담, 진담 반으로 부장님에게, 월급 좀 올려달라고 했다. 예상밖으로, 그러자고 하셨다. 지금 그 어느때 보다 일할 맛이 나니, 월급 인상은 나한테 확실히 효과가 있다.

 

I got to a point where I was thinking about quitting. Last Friday, my team had a drink after work. We all got wasted. Half-jokingly, I told my boss I need a raise! Surprisingly, he agreed! It’s working for me as I'm more motivated at work than ever.

시험에 떨어졌다. 거의 1년 동안 시험을 준비했다. 한방에 다 날려버린 느낌이었다. 더노력하지 않은 것에 대한 후회도 있었다. 호되게 깨달음을 얻었다. 그러나 곧 정신을 차리고 처음부터 다시 시작했습니다.

 

I failed the test. I had spent almost a year preparing for the test. I felt like I threw it all away. I also had regrets about not trying harder. I learned the lesson hard way. But I picked myself up soon and started from ground zero.

B: "안돼, 사장님 앞에서 안 망해야 하는데."

A: "Guess what? The boss is coming for a surprise visit!"
