  1. Script
The number one question I get asked as a house cleaner is, "How can you clean a house in such a short amount of time?" The best way I thought of answering this is actually showing you what I would do at a client's house versus what I would do in mine. At the client's house, I am not there to organize; I am there to clean. So, I will move everything and clean it, and organize it as best I can to make it look tidy. The reason why we take so much longer when it's our own home is because now we're cleaning plus we're trying to organize. We actually know where everything goes, so we take that extra time to put everything back. Here goes another example of a dining table: if this was my client's house again, I can't sort anybody's mail out, I can't throw away any kids' drawings, and I don't know where their clothes go. So, I will organize it in a nice pile, I'll tidy up their clothes and drape it over a chair, and then I'll clean it as usual. Again, it'll look nice and tidy and most importantly, it would be clean. Now, the difference if it was my home, I would put everything back where it goes, taking me twice as long. So, does that make sense?

  2. Expression
    • In such a short amount of time: Refers to completing a task quickly.
    • Make it look tidy: To arrange things neatly and in order.
    • Take that extra time: To spend more time than usual or necessary on a task.
    • Sort out: To organize or arrange items, often in a specific order or place.
    • As usual: Referring to the normal or typical way something is done.
    • Twice as long: Taking double the amount of time than usual.

  3. My Story
Recently, I asked my mom how she manages to do all the housework in such a short amount of time. She explained that when cleaning, she focuses on making it look tidy rather than organizing everything. She sorts out the essentials and cleans as usual, but doesn’t take that extra time to meticulously place every item. This approach helps her finish tasks much faster. However, when she has more time, like on weekends, she takes twice as long, organizing everything perfectly. Her method made perfect sense to me – it's about balancing efficiency with thoroughness.
