내 동네 커피 숍의 아늑한 분위기에 반해버렸었어요. 근처에 그런 카페가 있어서 대만족이었습니다. 거기서 커피를 홀짝이는 것이 주말 루틴의 일부가 되었어요. 그런데 시간이 지날수록 내 열정이 식었고, 루틴에 지루함을 느끼게 되었어요.

 

I fell in love with the cozy vibe of the coffee shop in my neighborhood. I found it gratifying to have a caffe like that nearby. Sipping coffee there became a part of my weekend routine. But, over time my enthusiasm got weaker, getting bored of the routine.

이번 주 초에 어려운 업무를 맡았어요. 과장님은 제가 그 일을 해낼 능력이 있다 생각하셨지만, 사실은 아니었어요. 정말로 나의 전체 능력 범위를 벗어나서 그 일을 해내야 했어요. 새로운 시도를 해보고 필요할 때 도움을 청했어요. 내 능력의 한계를 시험하며 두배로 열심히 노력했어요.

 

I was given a tough task earlier this week. My boss thought I had what it took, which was not true. I really had to go beyond my skill set to get it done.   I tried new things and asked for help when necessary. I worked extra hard pushing the boundaries of my abilities.

A: 내가 지원한 그 일 방금 합격했어. 

B: 진짜? 축하한다. 니가 잘 돼서 나도 좋다. 기분 어때?

A: 심장이 막 뛰어. 신나기도 하고 긴장도 돼. 나중에 한잔하면서 축하하자.

B: 뭔 나중이야. 오늘 밤에 축하파티하자! 내가 쏜다!

 

A: They just offered that job I applied for!

B: Seriously? Congratulations! I’m happy for you. How do you feel?

A: My heart is racing. I'm excited and nervous at the same time. Let's grab a drink later to celebrate.

B: Not later. Let's celebrate tonight! My treat!
