한 번 혼자 외국 여행 중 길을 잃었습니다. 길을 물어보기 위해 가게에 들렀는데, 거기 직원은 현지 영어 액센트로 말을 했습니다. 한동안 얘기했지만, 그가 하는 대부분의 영어를 이해하는 데 어려움을 겪었습니다. 다행히도, 그가 지도를 그려줬습니다. 그의 친절 덕붙에 살았습니다.

 

I got lost on a solo trip abroad once. I stopped by a store to ask for directions. The employee there spoke with a local English accent. We talked for a while, but I struggled to understand most of his English. Thankfully, he drew a map for me. His kindness saved the day.

아까 아침, 엄마가 마트 좀 다녀오라고 하셨고, 나는 거절할 수 없었습니다. 마트로 향하던 중 오랜 친구를 우연히 만났습니다. 서로 인사를 나누었고, 그녀도 먹을 것 좀 살 거라고 말했습니다. 집에 돌아와서는 그 친구 이야기를 엄마에게 했습니다.

 

My mom told me to do the shopping earlier today, and I couldn't say no. As I headed to the grocery store, I ran into an old friend. We said hi to each other. She also said she was going to buy some grocery too.  Back home, I told my mom about my friend.

It started by accident

 

A: "제일 늦은 사람이 팀 전체를 위해 커피를 사는 이유가 뭐에요?"

B: "우연히 시작됐어요. 어느 직원이 어느 날 늦게 도착하고 미안한 마음에 모두에게 커피를 샀어요."

A: "이제 그게 루틴이 된거네요. 그것 때문에 모두가 정시 출근하려고 노력하는 것이고요."

 

A: "How come the one who comes last buy coffee for the entire team?"

B: "It started by accident. A staff member was late one day and felt guilty, so he bought coffee for everyone."

A: "Now, it's a tradition. Everybody tries to make it to work on time because of that."
