1.    Script
Traveling, vacation, parties with friends, and then suddenly, you're like, no, you're locked in this office for like 18 hours a day. Good luck with that transition, really. I actually just, uh, funny enough, just because we're coming up on it, yeah, well, your plans getting blown up. I had a buddy of mine this happened to him last year. Valentine's Day coming up, um, day of, got his dinner plans blown up. He was first year in banking, he wasn't used to it. His girlfriend was obviously understanding, but nonetheless, yeah, you got to get used to your plans getting blown up real quickly. So any bankers listening, give your girlfriend or boyfriend a text and let them know that you may have to cancel. There might be a small, that's actually, that's a keeper if the person's cool with getting Valentine's Day plans blown up. And oh yeah, well, hey, it was just the first year it happened. I don't know what if it happens every year on Valentine's Day, then we don't know what's going to go on there, but, um, fingers crossed.

 

2.    Expression

•        Locked in this office for 18 hours a day: Refers to being stuck in a work environment for a long and demanding period.

•        Plans getting blown up: An informal way to say that plans have been unexpectedly disrupted or cancelled.

•        Understanding: Sympathetic and supportive of someone else's situation.

 

3.    My Story
Last year, during our peak season, I was often locked in the office for 80 hours a week, working on intense projects. This led to many of my personal plans getting blown up, as I had to cancel outings and meetings unexpectedly. Fortunately, my friends and family were very understanding about my hectic schedule, always sympathetic and supportive, which made it a bit easier to handle the demanding work environment.
