Day 19 Topic : Restaurants

Title : Dining at a 3 Michelin Star Restaurant in Korea

1. Script
So this is everything I ate in a three Michelin star restaurant in South Korea, so Cowan, is one of the two Korean restaurants to receive a three-star. It was also the first time I was dining at a restaurant  awarded with three stars, so needless to say I was very excited. What struck out to me the most was how traditionally based the course was, instead of it being a focus on the chef's creativity and what they could achieve with food. It was much more almost historical; the foods presented were a lot of royal palace food dishes remastered with modern-day techniques. I also love that they used local specialty ingredients from different provinces in Korea. While it wasn't a dining experience that blew my brains out or made me sob at the end of the meal, I had a mini proud moment to see that traditional Korean food was being recognized worldwide. Oh, and I also said that it was my guest's birthday to see what they would prepare, and they had prepared a mini rice cake and also a seaweed soup in the main course. These dishes are traditionally eaten during birthdays, which were really thoughtful and nice touches.

3. My story
For my last birthday, I went to the Four Seasons Hotel for dinner. It might sound basic, but it was an incredibly surprising experience. The taste of the food was so amazing that it almost blew my mind, and I was on the verge of tearing up from how touching it was. That day was definitely a proud moment for me. Needless to say, it was a fantastic birthday treat.
